on behalf of ricky martinez's dad roman martinez, sister rosalinda perea, wife nelda martinez, his only daughter rycca martinez, and my self brother bobby martinez. we would like to thank everyone for there thoughts prayers, and condolences. its another sad time in our lives. many of you have been on this long journey with the hometown boys. when we lost my oldest brother roman jr. in 97, three months later in 98 joe past away, in 2000 my sisters husband james past away, in 02 jesse past, in 04 jesse's son angelo past, in 05 our mother maria dolores past, which brings us to today, ricky past in 07. life is not always fair, but we have to play the hand that we are dealt, we have to move forward thats what all my brothers and mom would have wanted. one of the conversations i had with ricky not to long ago, he made me promise that if something happened to him that we would not let the music of the hometown boys die, he said that the tejano and conjunto people, fans will be there for htb like they were there when joe and jesse past. so we will push ahead and see where this road with out ricky will take us. ricky touched alot of lives, and one day when its my turn to go, i would be honored if people said the same about me, but that is in the future. again thank you to everyone for there prayers, thoughts, condolences and flowers, emails, phone calles and people we talked to in person and shared there stories of ricky with us. ricky always said, and i agree with him, if it wasnt for the people, and fans we would not be the hometown boys you are the ones that made us what and who we are. dont give up on the hometown boys. we will be around.

A nombre del padre de Ricky Martinez, Roman Martinez, su hermana Rosalinda Perea, su esposa Nelda Martinez, su única hija Rycca MArtinez, y yo su hermano Bobby martinez nos gustaría gradecer a todos por sus oraciones y condolencias. Es otro triste momento en nuestras vidas, muchos de ustedes han estado en esta larga jornada con "the hometownboys". Cuando perdimos a mi hermano mayor roman jr. en el 97, tres meses después en el 98 Joe fallece, en el 2000 el esposo de mi hermana James fallece, en el 2002 Jesse, en el 2004 el hijo de Jesse Angelo, en el 2005 nuestra mama "Maria Dolores" y quien nos trae hacia ustedes, Ricky en el 2007. La vida no siempre es una feria, pero nosotros tenemos que jugar las cartas que nos han dado, tenemos que seguir adelante ya que eso es lo que nuestros hermanos y madre hubieran deseado. Una de las conversaciones que tuve con Ricky no hace mucho tiempo, me hizo prometerle que si algo le pasaba a el que no deberíamos dejar que la música de "the hometown boys" muriera, el me dijo que la gente tejana y del conjunto, los fans estarían ahi para los htb como paso cuando Joe y Jesse fallecieron, asi que nosotros seguiremos adelante y ver hacia donde nos llevará este camino sin Ricky. Ricky tocó muchas vidas, y un dia cuando sea mi turno de partir, yo me sentiría homenajeado si la gente dijera lo mismo de mi, pero eso es el futuro, nuevamente agradezco a todos por sus oraciones, pensamientos, condolencias y flores, emails, llamadas telefónicas y la gente con la que hemos hablado en persona y compartió sus historias de Ricky con nosotros. Ricky siempre dijo, y estoy de acuerdo con el, si no fuera por la gente, y fans nosotros no seríamos "the hometoen boys" ustedes son los únicos que nos han hecho que y quienes somos, no te rindas de "the hometown boys", nosotros estaremos alrededor
